Litwick/Hitomoshi Pattern

I've decided Litwick is my favorite fifth generation Pokemon, so I made one. She's not that big; maybe five inches, from top of the flame to bottom. I also made her shiny, because I had no purple yarn (weird, because purple is my favorite color). If you have any questions, just ask. I don't mind, really.

Materials:
G hook (fun fact: when I looked at my G hook the other day, I realized it's a G/6, which i found to be pretty awesome)
Worsted weight yarn in white, and either light and dark purple or blue, depending on weather you want a normal one, or a shiny one. Also, if you'd like to use thicker/thinner yarn and a bigger/smaller hook, knock yourself out.
Needle for sewing
Yellow felt for eyes
Some black yarn or thread for the mouth
Stuffing

Starting with light purple/blue:
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch (12 stitches)
Round 3: sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next around (18)
Round 4: sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc in next around (24)
Round 5: sc in next 3 stitches, 2 sc in next around (30)
Change to white in last stitch of round 2
Round 6: sc in next 4 stitches, 2 sc in next around (36)
Round 7: in back loops only, sc around
Rounds 8-13: Sc around

F/O

Join yarn to round 18

Round 2: sl, sc, hdc, dc, trb twice in same st, dc, hdc, sc, hdc, 2dc, trb, dc, hdc, sc, 2hdc, dc, trb, dc, hdc, 2sc, hdc, dc, trb, dc, 2hdc, dc, trb, trb, dc, 2hdc
Sl to 1st sl of round 2
F/O

Join yarn to round 7
Round 1: sc in next stitches, 2 sc in next around (42)
Round 2 (top wax drippings): You can get creative with this; I did a combination of single, half double, double and treble crochets, plus two stitches I may or may not have made up: it’s the same as a treble, except you wrap the yarn around three or four times, then draw it through two loops every time.
Sc, hdc, dc, trb, trb+ trb++
Sl to first stitch of round 3
F/O

Arms:
Round 1: sc 5 in magic ring
Rounds 2-4: Sc around
F/O attach to sides

Flame (dark purple/blue):
Round 1: sc 4 in magic ring
Round 2: sc in first stitch, 2 sc in next around (6)
Round 3: sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc in next around (8)
Round 4: sc in next 3 stitches, 2 sc in next around (10)
Round 5: sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next around (15)
Rounds 6-8: Sc around
Round 9: sc in next stitch, dec over next 2 stitches around (10)
F/O, and attach to top

Attach the eyes, embroider on the mouth, and BOOM. You're done. You have yourself a Litwick. Or a Hitomoshi, if you prefer the Japanese name.

  1. This is awesome! I recently made an Oshawott, and was looking for other cute Pokémon to crochet for my friends... One wanted a Litwick, so this is perfect. Thanks for sharing this! :)

  2. Hi Tiffany! Thank you for the pattern. There is an error I thought you may want to fix. Great work though!
Round 16:sc in next 4, dec over next 2 stitches around (24) (should be sc in next 3)

  3. After you join the yarn on round 7, in that first row it should say "1 sc in next FIVE stitches" before increasing. Took me a little bit to figure that one out. Otherwise this is a delightful little Litwick. Thank you for sharing!
